Samuel Jones Tilden (February 9, 1814 – August 4, 1886) was the 25th Governor of New York and the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Presidency in the election of 1876, winning a popular vote majority, but losing the Electoral College majority.
Napoleon Sarony (March 9, 1821 – November 9, 1896) was an American lithographer and photographer. A highly popular and great portrait photographer, he was most known for his portraits of the stars of late-19th-century American theatre.
